Aviation technology provider, SITA, has announced that Nathalie Altwegg will spearhead growth for the company’s airports business.

Building on the company’s presence at more than 1,000 airports globally, Altwegg will be tasked with driving further growth in the airports market as well as reinventing the company’s push to digitalise operations and journeys across the world.

Having previously served as Chief Operating Officer for SITA Europe, Altwegg brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She has two decades of experience in the air transport industry, which has enabled her to gain a deep understanding of the airports business. She also brings expertise in the areas of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), IT outsourcing and business development.

“We’re world leaders in the airport market,” Altwegg said of SITA. “We’re bringing great changes as we reinvent journeys and processes to deliver the ultimate travel experience with the most advanced, efficient and sustainable technologies. Our Airports business is a jewel in the industry and I can’t wait to steer it into the future.”

She was joined by SITA CEO David Lavorel, who expressed his delight at Altwegg joining the executive team. “Her knowledge and leadership will be of great value to our airport customers of all sizes right across the world.”
