Vanderlande has announced it is acquiring Siemens Logistics to enhance customer value by providing accelerated access to advanced technologies and improving its global presence.

Known for its strong presence in airport logistics Vanderlande recognises the evolving trends in the sector and in particular with the rise in passenger travel the need for airports invest heavily in modernisation and the wider adoption of automated services.

Siemens Logistics’ innovative approach and robust business model align perfectly with Vanderlande’s vision for the future, according to Andrew Manship, Vanderlande’s President and CEO. “Its forward-thinking and innovative mindset also proves its ability to adapt to changing market dynamics. Our customers will benefit from a broader range of solutions and services, enabling them to address their challenges more effectively.”

Meanwhile, Michael Schneider, CEO of Siemens Logistics, said his company’s innovative portfolio of “high-performance hardware and software along with extensive offerings for smart services will perfectly complement Vanderlande’s portfolio”. It will also “continue to drive automation and digitalisation within the industry.”

He added that together the two companies “look forward to bringing fresh impetus to the airport industry and to supporting our customers’ business with future-oriented technologies.”

The transaction is expected to close before the end of 2025 subject to regulatory approvals, with Schneider concluding, “A future joint set-up will offer our customers as well as our teams significant development and value-add potential.”
