Shannon Airport Group has begun construction work on a EUR 14 million development in the airport’s business park.
Situated adjacent to the airport, the business park development will comprise two industrial units, adding approximately 100,000 square feet of energy-efficient space to help drive regional growth. The development is due to be completed in the first quarter of 2027.

In addition to the two industrial units, the development will have 180 on-site car parking spaces with designated EV charging locations. Sustainability is at the core of the two new units, which will incorporate advanced energy efficiency measures, low-carbon materials, solar PV panels, rainwater harvesting and biodiverse landscaping.
The business park is already recognised as Ireland’s largest multi-sectoral business park outside Dublin. A wide variety of companies are already present at the park, including businesses from industrial and manufacturing to life science and aviation. Its proximity to Shannon Airport makes it a prime location for companies seeking to grow and thrive in the Mid-West region.
“Since our establishment in 2014, we have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to driving economic development in the region,” continued O’Driscoll. “This commitment is evident in the fact that, over the period from 2014 through the end of 2025, we will have invested a total of EUR 200 million across our airport and commercial property businesses as part of our long-term development strategy.”
