Following the opening of the new airport at Nuuk at the end of last year, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has re-established a connection to Greenland’s capital that was last served more than two decades ago.

The addition of Nuuk to SAS’s network is part of the Scandinavian carrier’s broader strategy to build long-term connectivity across the North Atlantic and beyond. Operated three times weekly, the route has been developed in coordination   with Air Greenland.

The flag-carrying airline of Denmark, Sweden and Norway, SAS has its main hub at Copenhagen Airport, which it sees evolving as a global hub.

“Whether traveling for family, work, or discovery, our role is to enable purposeful journeys, with respect and responsibility,” said Anko van der Werff, President and CEO of SAS.

“And as the most punctual airline in the world, we are proud to bring that reliability to a route as meaningful as this one.”

The return of the route reflects SAS’ ongoing focus on long-term growth and connectivity. Strategic partnerships, including with SkyTeam and Air France-KLM, have expanded global reach, while continued investment in customer experience and operational excellence has strengthened SAS’s position.
