Reno-Tahoe Airport in Nevada, US, is enhancing the passenger experience with its ‘Arts at the Airport’ programme.

The project has been designed to showcase captivating public and local art celebrating the region’s unique community with 1% of airport Capital Improvement Project (CIP) design and construction costs dedicated to the dynamic arts scheme.

Alongside permanent exhibits, the airport is introducing temporary installations as well as live performances. Its first public art installation is a project by nationally acclaimed artist Dixie Friend Gay. The artwork will be installed along a 450ft. wide soffit above the airline ticket counters.

The airport, alongside Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority and its fellow general aviation airport Reno-Stead has been a long-standing supporter of the local arts community and has been instrumental in introducing travellers to the area’s rich art scene from the moment they touch the ground.
