EasyJet is starting a new twice weekly link between Cologne Bonn Airport in Germany with the northern Portuguese city of Porto from 1 April.

This route marks the third new destination that the low-cost carrier is offering from Cologne Bonn Airport in a short space of time. Berlin and Mallorca were also announced in recent months.

Situated at the mouth of the Douro river, the picturesque city of Porto will be served by flights on Friday afternoons and Monday mornings.

Commenting on the new link, Cologne Bonn’s managing director Torsten Schrank said: “We are delighted that EasyJet is already launching its third new route in Cologne Bonn. This is an important commitment to our location. With its magnificent old part of town, Porto is a real classic for city travellers and a worthwhile destination at any time of the year.”

EasyJet returned to the German airport in December after an 18-month break due to the coronavirus pandemic. Since then, it has been connecting the Rhineland with Berlin 12 times a week.

This is currently easyJet’s only domestic German route. The connection with Palma de Mallorca will be added to the airport’s network in May.
