Underlining its commitment to its Colorado roots and anticipating growth in the US business aircraft market, Pilatus Business Aircraft has opened a completions centre at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (KBJC) in Broomfield, Colorado.
The new 118,000 square foot facility has been custom-designed to conduct aircraft interior and exterior completions for all Pilatus PC-12 NG and PC-24 aircraft being delivered to North and South American customers. It features state-of-the art fabrication and installation shops, along with spare parts inventory to support the award-winning Authorised Pilatus Service Centre network, as well as offices for technical support, personnel and business management groups.
Commenting on the new completions centre, Thomas Bosshard, president and CEO of Pilatus Business, said: “We are proud to be able to continue producing and supporting the industry’s highest quality aircraft here in Colorado. Over the past 20 years we have built up a tremendously talented workforce that maintains the high-quality standards set by our Swiss parent company.”
Typically, around 55 PC-12 NG single-engine turboprop aircraft are completed in Broomfield each year, and the company plans for an additional 25 to 30 of its new PC-24 Super Versatile Jets to flow through the new facility annually. The company also forecasts that it will increase employment by around 30% over the next three years to handle this growth.
The new centre consolidates operations Pilatus has performed at the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport for over 20 years. In an opening ceremony on 21 October, more than 200 Pilatus leaders, employers, dealers, suppliers, local and state government officials and other guests gathered to mark the opening of the new facility.
