Airport lounge operator No1 Lounges has been awarded the tender by Ports of Jersey to bring its award-winning lounge experience to Jersey Airport.

Jersey Airport’s new lounge, which is due to open in Summer 2025 and is expected to boost the local economy, will focus on local recruitment with a focus on attracting talent from the surrounding area. It will draw inspiration from the surrounding Jersey landscape with a lounge spanning 5,900 sq ft and featuring over 5,000 sq ft of front-of-house space with the ability to accommodate 148 guests. It will also offer panoramic views and a relaxing space for customers to relax or catch up on work before a flight.

Stylish sanctuary

Matt Thomas, Chief Executive of Ports of Jersey commented he was looking forward to providing a “stylish sanctuary” offering an escape from the busy terminal. “No1 Lounges has a reputation for delivering outstanding customer service, a welcoming atmosphere and a memorable experience for every guest.”

He added that the lounge, which will be open to all travellers regardless of airline or travel class, will provide a “relaxing environment to unwind before a flight.”

Sense of place

Thomas was joined by No1 Lounges Managing Director, Rami El-Dahshan, who said, “Jersey has an incredible energy and unique charm, and we’re passionate about creating a lounge experience that reflects the spirit of the island. Hot on the heels of our latest opening at Heathrow, [this lounge] is part of our ambitious expansion across the UK and Europe.”

It’s not just about building the infrastructure, he added. “It’s about immersing ourselves in the culture and collaborating with the local community to create something really special.”

With construction due to start imminently, he concluded: “We can’t wait to bring the lounge to life.”
