Alhind Group, a travel service operator, has been given approval by India’s Civil Aviation Ministry to develop Alhind Air, a new airline.

A launch date is estimated for the end of the year, depending on acquiring NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the Civil Aviation Ministry and an AOC (Air Operator Certificate) from the Director General of Civil Aviation.

The airline will provide connectivity between regional airports in South India, initially with Kochi to Bengaluru and Thiruvananthapuram to Chennai, before expanding to other major Indian cities and international destinations.

Alhind Air is set to commence regional operations with three ATR-72 aircraft, however the company intends to use Airbus A320 for international flights.
