The airport recorded a total of 525,489 passengers in the first six months of 2025.
As well as maintaining its growth in passenger traffic, Münster/ Osnabrück Airport (FMO) has also recorded high passenger satisfaction from January to June, 2025. The airport, which is open 24/7, scored 4.3 stars overall for passenger rights organisation AirHelp, which analyses Google reviews of all German airports.
The total of 525,489 passengers is a 1.8 per cent decrease compared to the same period last year, when the airport experienced above average growth of 39 per cent.
FMO remains one of the best-recovered airports in Germany, having seen a 31 per cent increase compared to 2019 figures.
Over the summer 2025 season, the airport launched two new routes with Ryanair to London Stansted in the UK and Malaga in Spain. Both were unserved key city and leisure routes.
Corendon Airlines also expanded FMO’s network with the launch of a weekly link with Izmir in Turkey. Meanwhile Nesma Airlines and Red Sea Airlines are two new carriers serving Hurghada with a weekly service and Aegean Airlines is a new airline customer for FMO. The Greek airline is operating a route to Heraklion.
In the AirHelp rankings, FMO was ranked second nationwide and was Germany’s most popular airport handling more than one million passengers per year.
Passengers credited fast handling and friendly staff, as well as the short travel distances within the airport with helping to ensure an excellent airport experience.
The airport has recently invested in modernising its infrastructure to improve passenger satisfaction: a new landside restaurant has opened, while car parks have been upgraded and sanitary facilities have been modernised.
