Following a busy 2019 SEA Prime – the sole operator of Business and General Aviation infrastructures at Linate and Malpensa airports in Milan – has announced that the opening of the Milano Prime terminal at Malpensa last year generated an 85.5% increase in movements.

This increase in traffic is in part attributed to the traffic re-routed from Linate Airport during its three month closure for runway and infrastructure repairs. A total of 5,300 movements were routed to the new Malpensa terminal during this period. The two Milano Prime airports managed a total of 24,500 business and general aviation movements in 2019 with an average of approximately 70 movements per day.

Speaking at this year’s AIR OPS Europe taking place in Brussels this week, Chiara Dorigotti SEA Prime’s CEO said: “2019 was an important year for SEA Prime. We achieved important results and recognitions such as the Safety Recognition Award granted by EBAA.”

In line with European airports promising to reduce its net carbon emissions to zero by 2050 Dorigotti also highlighted the company’s extended partnership with BMW which will provide SEA Prime with full electric vehicles in February 2020. “The renewed partnership continues the commitment towards sustainability of SEA Prime at both Milan Linate and Malpensa airports, accredited 3+ carbon neutrality by ACI Europe,” she added.
