In conjunction with its joint venture partner, Swissport, Airport Dimensions celebrated the opening of its newest My Lounge at London Luton Airport (LLA) on 1 June. The opening of the new facility at LLA means that SwissportALD, as the joint venture is called, now operates 14 lounges in the UK, across Birmingham, Gatwick, Heathrow and Luton. These make up part of Airport Dimensions’ global network of 65 airport lounges and experiences.
According to Airport Dimensions, the lounge, which is being operated by No1 Lounges, will deliver a premium experience at an accessible price point and follows hot on the heels of the first No1 Lounge, which opened at LLA in December, 2023. It will have a capacity of 135 seats and features a range of amenities and services developed to the latest specifications to suit differing passenger needs. It is accessible to Priority Pass and Lounge Key cardholders, while less frequent passengers can opt to pre-book as and when they need.
The lounge’s design has been inspired by loft style living with family-style layouts and backroom lounge areas to cater for larger groups. There’s also plenty of armchair seating for solo travellers. Meanwhile, a games area will enable passengers to unwind with their favourite video game or enjoy some TV prior to flying.
An all-day self-service pantry in proximity to the bistro seating area will keep passengers’ hunger at bay with a seasonal menu and pancake machine. Alcoholic beverages will be available from the fully tended bar, while hot drinks and juices will be available from self-service stations.
Commenting on the opening of the lounge on 1 June, Errol McGlothan, President of Airport Dimensions, EMEA and APAC said: “Today’s opening of the My Lounge at London Luton bolsters our strategic commitment to both our partnership with Swissport and to the growth of our market-leading network in the UK. The My Lounge proposition and the services it provides create a relaxing, laid-back environment for one of the UK’s busiest airports and I’m confident we will provide the high-quality service and operations that travellers deserve.”
Meanwhile, Johathan Rayner, CCO at London Luton added: “This investment from No 1 Lounges is the latest in a series of terminal enhancements that we have delivered over recent months, all of which supports the simple, friendly passenger experience we are committed to delivering. With LLA’s stunning No1 Lounge already established as a firm favourite with leisure and business travellers, the opening of My Lounge, ahead of the summer, is perfect timing as it looks set to become an instant, equally popular choice for our passengers.”
