In response to an increase in passenger traffic and demand, lounge operator, Aspire has opened a new executive lounge to replace its smaller facility at the Liverpool hub.
The new Aspire Executive Lounge draws inspiration from Liverpool’s rich history and cultural identity, featuring a striking mural serving as a visual tapestry of the city’s cultural influence and maritime heritage.
“Every element of the lounge’s interior has been thoughtfully designed to reflect Liverpool’s rich heritage and vibrant present,” explained James Millett, Director of Lounges UKI and Global Customer Innovation at Aspire.
Paying homage to Liverpool’s most celebrated musicians, a centrepiece digital canvas reimagining Images of a Woman – the only artwork collectively created by The Beatles in 1966 during their tour in Tokyo – is woven with imagery of instruments, concertgoers and lyrics. The canvas has been designed to capture the city’s musical legacy.
“Guests are welcomed into a sophisticated space that echoes the grandeur of the city’s iconic Three Graces – the Royal Liver Building, the Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building,” he continued. “This new lounge pays tribute to Liverpool’s remarkable history and we are proud to open our doors to passengers seeking a relaxing start to their journey.”
The lounge is open daily from 4am to 9pm, offering guests a two-tiered option with either the classic premium Aspire facility, which offers up to 150 seats, or an upgrade to the 55-seat Luxe by Aspire Lounge, for a super-premium experience. The latter features an adult-only space with private booths, a communal workspace, premium snacks and drinks.
“The original lounge had grown so popular that it became clear a larger, more upscale space was needed to meet increasing demand,” explained Lucy O’Shaughnessy, Commercial Director at Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
“We’re thrilled to now see the doors open to this new space, offering passengers an elevated experience at the heart of our terminal.”
The 750sqm lounge represents a multi-million-pound investment by Aspire and has created 20 new jobs at the airport.
David Collyer, Global Senior Vice President of Aspire Executive Lounges commented: “This launch represents another important step in our journey to deliver insight-driven lounge experiences tailored to the evolving needs of our guests. By bringing two distinct lounge concepts together, we’re proud to offer a world-class facility that enhances Liverpool’s airport experience. Expanding our presence here further reaffirms the city’s role as a key hub in our global lounge network.”
