Global food and beverage (F&B) concessionaire, SSP, is opening five outlets at Iceland’s Keflavik Airport.
The new units will include a large food court called Adalstrati Food Hall featuring two food concessions and a bar. The Drinks Hub has been created specifically for the Icelandic hub and is the centrepiece of the area.
SSP is also opening its own branded Trattoria Tavolare, an Italian dining concept. Meanwhile, Icelandic burger brand, Yuzu, will offer classic burger dishes, as well as Icelandic and Asian-inspired flavours. A POINT kiosk will provide passengers with a quick, convenient, one-stop shopping experience and an American-themed diner offering American-style favourites at the non-Schengen terminal will complete the new F&B openings.
“These openings are testament to the great achievements of our team here in Iceland and the fabulous relationship we’ve forged with our client, Isavia,” said Stian Lund, CEO SSP Nordics & Baltics.
“We’re pleased to be building on these firm foundations in this key region. By brining brands that have already proven to be formidable performers in Iceland as well as the wider Nordics, we’re confident that this outstanding mix of concepts will delight passengers across a range of demographics,” he continued.
The new concessions are in line with Keflavik Airport’s phased expansion plan that will eventually see it able to accommodate 15 million passengers per year. This includes the construction of a third runway, new terminal piers and an airport city.
Guðmundur Daði Rúnarsson, Chief Commercial and Airport Development Officer at Keflavik Airport said; “We place great emphasis on offering passengers quality and variety, in cooperation with trusted and experienced partners. SSP has proven to be a strong and reliable collaborator, with deep expertise in operating food and beverage concepts in international travel environments. We are pleased to expand our partnership and look forward to continuing to develop the airport experience together.”
