Passenger volumes at Swedavia’s ten airports continued to grow in June, driven by rising demand for international travel. In total, just over 3.2 million passengers passed through the airports during the month, an increase of 0.5% compared with June 2025. International traffic rose nearly 3%, while domestic travel declined by 8%, largely due to reduced capacity. Visby Airport was the exception, recording growth supported by expanded capacity and stronger demand.
As in May, the overall trend was shaped by sustained international growth. However, global uncertainty — particularly developments in the Middle East — and higher fuel prices continued to moderate the pace of recovery. International travel is still increasing, but at a slower rate than earlier in the year.
Stockholm Arlanda Airport handled just over 2.3 million passengers in June, broadly in line with the same month in 2025. International traffic grew nearly 2% to just over 2 million passengers, while domestic travel fell 12% to around 314,000.
Göteborg Landvetter Airport reported more than 560,000 passengers, a 3% year on year increase. International travel rose 4% to more than 525,000 passengers, while domestic traffic declined 17% to nearly 38,000.
Among Swedavia’s other airports, Visby and Malmö posted positive overall growth. Visby Airport saw a 16% increase driven by additional capacity and higher demand. At Malmö Airport, international traffic strengthened thanks to improved capacity and rising demand, while domestic travel was constrained by reduced capacity.
Bromma Stockholm Airport recorded just under 13,000 passengers in June, equivalent to 6% of pre pandemic levels in 2019.
New routes from June 2026 include Stockholm Arlanda – Shanghai, Göteborg Landvetter – Tirana and Göteborg Landvetter – Riga.
