Ground services equipment (GSE) company, ITW GSE, is showcasing some of its latest innovations at this year’s inter airport Europe show taking place in Munich until 9 October.
Built on its advanced 3500 PCA design platform, the ITW GSE 3500 Mobile PCA is mounted on a towable trailer, so is ready to deploy without the need for fixed installation. It can be parked at any location from contact gates to remote stands.
The modular design also means that cooling modules, fans and filters can be swapped on-site in minutes.
“We were initially approached by Amsterdam Schiphol Airport who were looking to deploy mobile PCA units,” explained a spokesperson on ITW GSE’s booth. In total the airport acquired 55 ITW GSE 3500 PCA’s.
Designed for fast, intuitive operation, the 3500 PCA is ready to roll as soon as it’s delivered. “Just roll it into place, connect to the power and begin cooling,” said the spokesperson, underlining the solution is scalable for all size airports.

For even greater flexibility, the 3500 Mobile PCA can be paired with an Air Coil mounted on a dedicated dolly. This combination ensure efficient hose handling, reduces ramp clutter and enhances safety for ground personnel.
Alongside its 55 PCA units, Schiphol also ordered 80 ITW GSE 3500 Air Coils.
At the core of the Air Coil’s exceptional performance are the new innovative SuperHose AirTight and SuperHose KinkFree. Not only do these hoses reduce leakages by 40 per cent, they also maintain optimal airflow and are designed to reduce energy dissipation, contributing to lower operational costs.
The Air Coil’s motorised hose retriever simplifies operations, requiring just one operator. Meanwhile, smart controls enable seamless handling, enabling smooth and fast turnarounds.
ITW GSE is also showcasing its latest DC Charger at this year’s show. Part of the GSE supplier’s EcoGate suite, the DC Charger delivers fast charging capabilities for electric GSE. Tapping into the existing infrastructure, the DC Charger connects directly to the ITW GSE 2400 GPU, which allocates surplus power, unlocking efficient load sharing to charge eGSE with 60kW.
