Inform has launched its GroundStar (GS) TeamWork – a mobile app that optimises resource allocation and enables rapid decision making.

Inform, a global software provider specialising in AI-driven optimisation solutions for ground operations, has unveiled its GroundStar TeamWork tool to enhance task allocation on the apron or in the terminal.

The latest tool of the GroundStar software suite, GS TeamWork offers a task-based overview of current and upcoming flights, staff deployment, overall capacity utilisation and break planning. It can be applied to multiple business areas, such as aircraft loading or gate services.

Efficient task allocation

The mobile-first web app allows frontline managers to plan and assign tasks for all staff members on duty in their area. Instead of performing the task allocation manually on paper or spreadsheets, the local frontline managers can efficiently assign tasks, adapt to changes, and optimise resource utilisation.

In the event of a disruption, the app’s user-friendly interface allows for easy adjustments to be made, either manually or through quick, data-driven decision support. Similarly, employees receive updates in the app instantly, including key details on delays or changes that may affect them.

Explaining that the tool delivers a shortcut in ground operations communication, Michael Reinkober, Inform product manager said:

“At airports we can allow the central allocation to concentrate on cross-utilising staff between work areas where necessary, leaving the actual task allocation to the frontline managers who have the best overview and judgment on current tasks in their area.”

Leveraging real-time data

By leveraging real-time data and proactive suggestions, the frontline managers can mitigate disruptions quickly. As a result, costly delays are reduced, and more efficient and reliable ground operations are assured.
