Renowned for its unique designs at more than 560 hotels around the world, the ibis Styles brand is adding a hotel at Munich Airport to its hotel portfolio.

The project officially got under way with the groundbreaking ceremony on 30 May, 2023. The 358-room hotel for which the design will be themed on the Isar River in its many forms, is due to open in spring 2025. While Munich Airport will own the building, which is located footsteps from the airport terminal, it will be managed by Accor.

The hotels’ groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Nathalie Leroy, CFO of Munich Airport, who said: “The ibis Styles Munich Airport will not only be a place of comfort and hospitality, but it will also be a key factor in the economy of the region. It will create new jobs and support local business. It will also help to consolidate Munich Airport’s position as an international hub.”

Thiemo Wilms, VP of Development at Accor in Germany, Austria and Switzerland adde: “Munich Airport is one of the most important airport hubs in all of Europe. That makes us all the more proud to be working with our partners at Munich Airport to represent not only our ibis Styles brand but also the city of Munich with our design and our services.”

For those travelling to and from the airport the hotel will be ideal for an overnight stay and will mean the airport will have three hotels of different categories located on site.
