Skiers and winter sports enthusiasts travelling from Jersey will benefit from an expanding partnership between local carrier Blue Islands and Channel Islands tour operator Allez Ski, which will see weekly flights being served between Jersey and Grenoble.

“We have been proudly partnering with Allez Ski to provide its charter flights from Jersey and Guernsey to the slopes since 2018,” said Rob Veron, CEO of Blue Islands. The service will enable passengers travelling from Jersey to arrive in the Alps two hours later.

“Whether it’s Christmas, New Year, February half-term or prime skiing in January or early February, we’re excited to increase to a nine-week season of direct flights to Grenoble this winter, and offer a flight-only option,” he continued.

The gateway to the French Alps, Grenoble offers access to popular winter resorts, including Val d’Isere, Tignes, La Plagne, Les Arcs, Courchevel, Meribel, Les Menuires, Val Thorens, Avoriaz and Morzine.

Grenoble Airport’s Director, Pierre Marnotte, said that while Blue Islands has previously operated ad hoc flights to Grenoble, the airport is looking forward to welcoming passengers from Jersey on a weekly service from this coming winter season. “This means more islanders than ever will now be able to benefit from direct flights to our ‘gateway’ to the Alps.”
