Ahead of the Dubai Air Show, which will take place 17-21 November, and amid surging demand for private aviation in the UAE, Gama Aviation is progressing the construction of its new Business Aviation Centre (BAC) at Sharjah International Airport.
A multi-million-dollar investment, the purpose-built 80,000 sqm facility, which is due for completion in early 2026, reinforces Gama Aviation’s long-term confidence in the UAE and the surrounding region.
“Our investment in Sharjah underlines our confidence in both the emirate and the region’s aviation future,” said Marwan Khalek, Group CEO, Gama Aviation.
“It supports the UAE’s Vision 2030 framework by delivering world-class aviation infrastructure and creating high-value employment, while giving our clients an efficient, well-connected alternative to more congested hubs.”
The planned closure of Dubai International Airport (DXB) when Dubai World Central (DWC) opens has further strengthened Sharjah’s strategic appeal. With aircraft owners and operators now assessing their long-term alternatives, Gama Aviation’s investment in the BAC positions Sharjah as a credible player in the region’s private aviation sector.
“Sharjah’s pro-business environment and accessibility make it an ideal location for a new generation of business aviation services,” noted Khalek.
Sharjah’s BAC will feature a VVIP terminal with private lounges, relaxation suites and an observation bar. It will also incorporate a 12,000 sqm hangar purpose-built for secure aircraft parking, storage and line maintenance. Crew will be able to make the most of rest suites, 24-hour dining, briefing rooms and priority parking adjacent to the terminal.
Tom Murphy, Managing Director, FBO Services, Gama Aviation described the BAC as setting a “benchmark for private aviation in the Middle East and beyond.”
He underlined the facility is being built to “exceed” expectations. “Every detail, from terminal flow to hangar layout, has been created around the client experience: faster transitions, greater privacy, and service excellence that defines the next chapter of Gama Aviation’s story.”
