Flyvbird (Flyv) has completed its first demonstration flight at Friedrichshafen Airport in Germany, and has announced its first scheduled flights from the same location in May 2025, taking a step towards its goal of on-demand air mobility.

Flyvbird aims to assist with over-congested transport issues by providing on-demand air transport for a low cost, using Hybrid Electric Aircraft for sustainability, and implementing an AI system called FlyvAI to efficiently match demand and availability. The company has also developed an app that would enable passengers to book flights and other follow-on services such as car or bike rental.

“Yesterday marked a milestone for future regional air mobility models,” said Tomislav Lang, Flyvbird’s principal shareholder and founder. “With my extensive experience leading several airlines, I am thrilled to spearhead this visionary leap. Flyvbird combines cutting-edge technology with the needs of modern travellers, pathfinding a sustainable future in aviation.”

The company aims to operate three Tecnam PC2012 Traveller aircraft from 2025, with a further three aircraft ordered and expected to be delivered in 2026. Flyvbird currently has partnerships with regional companies, airports, and manufacturers.

“We are proud to support Flyvbird at this exciting juncture,” commented The Merse Family Group, Flyvbird’s lead investor. “Yesterday’s success demonstrates the future of air mobility is rooted in innovation and sustainability. We see enormous potential in Flyvbird and are thrilled to be part of this movement.”
