South African low-fare carrier, FlySafair, has expanded its partnership with Menzies Aviation from one airport to seven as part of a new five-year contract.

The global aviation logistics specialist will provide passenger and ramp services for the LCC at O.R. Tambo International Airport, Cape Town International Airport, King Shaka Airport, King Phalo Airport, Dawid Stuurman Airport and George Airport, in addition to Bram Fischer International Airport.

A major win for Menzies, the extended contract will mean Menzies provides services for more than 40,000 turns per year for the airline, which is the biggest domestic carrier by passenger numbers in South Africa. The airline is expected to receive additional aircraft in early 2023. The contract also follows the recent five-year renewal of Menzies’ ground handling licence with Airports Company South Africa (ACSA).

“We’re delighted to provide ground services to FlySafair at more airports across South Africa,” said Charles Wyley, Executive Vice President, Middle East, Africa & Asia, Menzies Aviation. “We began working with the airline at Bloemfontein last year and this latest win is a major milestone for our team as it reflects the high standard and service they consistently provide to our airline customers.”
