The north central Florida hub, Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV) has opened a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) pre-check screening line during peak hours.

Improving passenger flow and enhancement, the TSA pre-check allows eligible passengers to receive an expedited security check without having to remove their shoes, laptops, liquids, belts and light jackets.

“TSA pre-check will further enhance the travel experience at our already convenient airport,” said Allan Penksa, GNV’s CEO. “GNV is proud to join the 200 airports and 54 airlines in the United States who offer TSA pre-check.”

Passengers must be enrolled in the TSA pre-check programme to be eligible for the service. Processing of the five-year $85 membership takes about two weeks and involves completing an application online followed by an interview in person, which includes a background check and fingerprinting.
