Situated in the southern part of Oromia regional state, Ethiopia’s Yabello project has officially been inaugurated and  complemented by a new passenger service to the airport thanks to new road infrastructure.

The ETB 1 billion airport is one of several airport projects that the Ethiopian flag carrier is currently working on.

“The completion of the Yabello Airport project demonstrates our commitment to advancing aviation infrastructure that transforms lives and connect communities across Ethiopia,” said Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Mesfin Tasew.

“This is a truly transformative moment for the local community and the entire region, and as the flag carrier of Ethiopia, we are proud to have made this moment a reality.”

The new airport is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy, boosting travel, trade, tourism and investment.
