ENEOS Corporation is launching a SAF blockchain book and claim service via Avelia, Shell’s SAF book and claim solution that provides traceable environmental attributes of SAF to customers in Japan.
ENEOS is striving to combat the supply chain difficulties associated with SAF, in addition to helping decarbonise the aviation industry by using Avelia to share the cost and environmental attribute benefits of SAF within the stakeholder network. The initiative forms part of ENEOS’s agreement with Shell Aviation to collaborate on SAF marketing.
The book and claim service will assist airlines with acquiring SAF and monitoring the carbon reduction impact of the usage.
Part of ENEOS’s plan is to build an integrated SAF supply chain, covering all aspects from raw material procurement to in-house manufacturing and sales.
Neat SAF, compared to conventional jet fuel, can reduce lifecycle emissions by up to 80 per cent, with blended SAF already being used by many airlines.
