Following the news last week that Bitish air freight carrier, European Cargo, has confirmed plans to open a new base at Cardiff Wales Airport, low-fare carrier PLAY Airlines has now launched new links with Reykjavik.

In addition to European Cargo confirming its extended presence at Cardiff with the development of a permanent base at the Welsh airport, the airport had double cause for celebration over the weekend. Saturday 11 October saw the arrival of low-fare carrier, PLAY Airlines which is offering links with Iceland.

The seasonal links with Reykjavik will be served twice a week and will enable customers to enjoy direct flights between Wales and the Icelandic capital. Lee Smith, Cardiff Wales Airport’s Head of Business Development added that the route will also allow for people in Wales to “take advantage of PLAY’s free stopovers in Iceland, before jetting off to five key cities in North America.”
