Airport operator Daa has named Jetex as the operator of the new Red Sea Global Airport’s dedicated private jet terminal, which is due to open fully in 2025.

Adel Mardini, Founder and CEO of Jetex commented: “Jetex is excited to embark on its first major venture in Saudi Arabia through the innovative Red Sea International Airport, a pioneering project in sustainable tourism.

“In collaboration with both Daa International and Red Sea Global, we aim to transform the airport into a top-tier destination that resonates with the most discerning international and domestic travellers.”

The agreement will see Jetex fit-out the dedicated private aviation terminal. Once operational, the facility will see the FBO operator covering all aspects of private jet handling, including managing the private terminal, aircraft turnarounds, concierge services and luxury electric airport transfers in lien with the destination’s sustainability priorities.

Advancing sustainable air mobility

This week has also seen Jetex agree to integrate Joby’s electric air taxi with the former’s flagship private terminals. The collaboration with the eVTOL developer will also see the global expansion of sustainable air taxi infrastructure through the installation of charging stations across the Middle East.

The two companies will focus initially on locations across the Middle East, where Joby plans to install its Global Electric Aviation Charging System (GEACS), to support Joby operations that will connect Jetex passengers to a network of vertiports, offering efficient and sustainable travel across the region and between Emirates.

“Jetex’s exceptional operational standards and commitment to sustainability make them an ideal partner as we work to redefine urban air mobility,” said JoeBen Bevirt, Founder and CEO of Joby Aviation. “With their strategically positioned steam and focus on delivering unparalleled customer experiences, this collaboration is a significant milestone in advancing sustainable air travel in the region.”
