dnata is advancing the next phase of its growth in Italy by offering permanent employment to 300 colleagues across its airport operations in Rome and Milan. The move, effective from this month, covers 150 employees at Rome Fiumicino (FCO) and 150 across Milan Malpensa (MXP) and Milan Linate (LIN), forming a key part of dnata Italy’s long term workforce strategy to strengthen employment stability, skills development and operational resilience at three major national hubs.
The milestone follows several years of expansion in Italy, including dnata’s entry into FCO, the full integration of its Italian ground handling business under the dnata brand, and continued investment in infrastructure and fleet. dnata now employs around 5,000 people across the three airports, serving more than 60 airline customers and handling 150,000 flights, 46 million passengers and 18 million bags annually.
Alberto Morosi, CEO of dnata Italy, said the conversion of roles reflects both the company’s progress and confidence in the Italian market, adding: “By converting 300 roles into permanent positions, we are giving more of our colleagues greater stability while strengthening the teams that support our airline customers across Rome and Milan.”
At FCO, where dnata secured a seven-year ground handling licence in February 2025, the company has grown its station to more than 2,500 employees, serving 25 airlines and handling over 80,000 flights since launch. Around 700 new GSE units have been deployed to support operations.
In Milan, dnata continues to expand across MXP and LIN while progressing its major cargo development at Malpensa. Construction is underway on a €25 million cargo facility with capacity for 100,000 tonnes annually, scheduled to open at the end of 2027 and expected to create 200 additional jobs.
The conversion of 300 roles follows agreements with Italian trade unions aimed at strengthening organisational development, nurturing internal talent and enhancing employee welfare, including work life balance initiatives. The move aligns with dnata’s global focus on building stable, skilled teams to support safe, reliable and high quality airport operations for airline customers.
