Bhogapuram Airport, a greenfield airport project in Andhra Pradesh, India expected to be open by the end of 2025 and operated by GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport (GVIAL), has appointed ADB Safegate to deploy its latest Airside 4.0 technology, including advanced LED Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) systems.
The collaboration builds on a longstanding relationship between ADB Safegate and its local partner Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T). The two have already partnered on projects in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Navi Mumbai. ADB Safegate has also worked with GMR Group on airports it operates in Hyderabad and New Delhi.
Bhartendu Mohan, Country Director for India at ADB Safegate commented: “Bhogapuram marks another new landmark project with L&T and GMR. We are thrilled to bring our latest Airside 4.0 technology to the Bhogapuram Airport project. This innovative solution will not only enhance the airport’s operational efficiency but also set new standards for safety and sustainability in the aviation industry.”
The project is expected to be completed within 12 – 14 months, ahead of the airport’s anticipated opening in 2025.
