Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) has signed an agreement with Valo Aviation to develop its private aviation sector.
The agreement follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the two companies at the Paris Air Show in June 2025. The signing at the end of October was overseen by Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa. Khalid Hussain Taqi, Chairman of Gulf Air Group was also present at the singing, as was Hussain Ahmed Rashid Al Shuail, Undersecretary for Civil Aviation Affairs, Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah, CEO of Bahrain Airport Company and Hanna Hakamo, CEO of Valo Aviation.
The agreement is aligned with Bahrain’s commitment to the development of the country’s business aviation sector as an integral part of its national air transport system. Advancing infrastructure within the private aviation structure is key to reinforcing Bahrain International Airport’s role as a hub for these services.
The agreement includes the construction of a facility for maintenance, repair and ground services for private jets at Bahrain Airport. Valo Aviation plans to build a 6,000 sqm VIP jet facility. This initiative is part of Valo Aviation’s strategy to expand its presence in hangar and MRO services, supporting the long-term sustainability and efficiency of its operations in the Kingdom.
Valo Aviation’s CEO, Hanna Hakamo, praised Bahrain’s strategic location and its investment in the development of its aviation sector. She also noted the project underlines Valo Aviation’s long-term investment in infrastructure to support the broader growth of the Kingdom’s aviation sector.
Valo Aviation became Bahrain’s first business jet operator when Hakamo announced ambitious plans for expansion, including an in-house maintenance facility during the Bahrain International Airshow in 2024. The construction of a custom-designed hangar in Bahrain will enable Valo to become a full-service operator.
The signing of this latest agreement is a significant next step for Valo Aviation. Hakamo underlined her appreciation of the support from the ministry and Bahrain Airport Company, adding that the partnership will also boost quality job creation in the sector.
