The new contract ensures an annual inspection and service by an engineer for any Aviramp equipment, in order to maintain optimal working conditions for the ramps. The engineer will also give maintenance advice during the service and, when possible, replace parts on the same day.
“We are delighted to launch our 42-point annual service and certification plan, which puts the level of support we offer right at the forefront of the industry,” said Chief Executive Graham Corfield. “[…] All our equipment comes with a ten-year structural warranty so the great majority of visits will be very straightforward. When everything is checked, we will issue a certificate of operational compliance which will help the operator with issues such as insurance and we can also offer a range of discounts including for converting ramps from diesel to solar.”
The low-angled boarding ramps and bridges, fitted with a non-slip surface, are deployed when an aircraft is parked on a remote stand, and provide an alternative for stairs and ambulifts for wheelchair users and reduced-mobility passengers. Aviramp has secured approximately 50 orders for ramps from airports and operators globally this year.
The news follows an announcement in May that Aviramp had secured a deal with Frontier Airlines for £1.2 million.
