The stage is almost set for this year’s Aviation AFRICA Summit and Exhibition 2024 , which is taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre in Sandburg from 16-17 September. The national sponsor of the event, SACAA, alongside the organiser, Times Aerospace, have announced the that the opening address will be given by the Hon Barbara Creecy, Minister of Transport, Republic of South Africa.

“We are honoured to welcome Minster Creecy to open Aviation Africa in what will be one of her first aviation event engagements since being appointed to the role on 3 July 2024 in the new Government of National Unity of South Africa,” said Mark Brown, CEO, Times Aerospace.

“Aviation Africa has surpassed all our expectations in terms of visitor registrations and exhibitor driven by interest in how commercial air transport is developing in South Africa and across the African continent.”

This year, 91 airlines will be taking part in Aviation Africa, with an expected 1,400 attendees and nearly 100 exhibitors and sponsors. The event will be hosted by the South African Civil Aviation Authority, as well as John Lamola, CEO of South African Airways, and Rodger Foster, CEO of Airlink, taking part in the event’s summit.

Regional Gateway Editor, Chloe Greenbank, will be moderating the airports panel on Monday 16 September at 16.00.
