AviAlliance is one of Canada’s largest pension investors and a long-standing investor in UK infrastructure. The addition of AGS to its portfolio will see the three UK hubs join its global airport network, which includes stakes in Athens, Dusseldorf, Hamburg and San Juan (Puerto Rico) airports.
The investment firm has also announced the appointment of Kam Jandu, who recently served as CEO of Budapest Airport, as the new CEO of AGS Airports. Jandu will take over from Andy Cliffe, who said he will “work closely with Kam and AviAlliance during this transition period” and will “look back fondly” on his time as CEO of the airport group.
Commenting on his excitement at his latest appointment, Jandu said: “Aberdeen, Glasgow and Southampton airports offer unique propositions and catchment areas which present growth opportunities for airlines and other business partners alike. Working with the great people across the group and airports we aim to further improve their economic impact in a sustainable manner for the benefit of all stakeholders.”
Adding that the three UK regional airports are “excellent assets with strong growth potential,” Gerhard Schroeder, Managing Director of AviAlliance, said the air transport hubs will “benefit significantly from the forward-thinking exchange of expertise in growing connectivity, expanding passenger numbers and delivering a superior passenger experience from across our world-class airport portfolio.”
