The award symbolises the recognition of exemplary service to the region and outstanding community partnership to the parent airport, in this case, Double Eagle II Airport in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
“Bode Aero is an exceptional steward of the Albuquerque community and the aviators within it,” said Mark Haynes, vice president of sales for Avfuel. “We are honoured to present Bode Aero with the first Communities Soar Award and look forward to a continued partnership through which the aviation industry—local and beyond—benefits from Bode Aero’s deep-rooted sense of community.”
Bode Aero Services became an Avfuel-branded FBO in 2007, but the company has provided services to flight operations, such as fuel, ground handling, military support, concierge services, and hangar space, since 2002.
Another factor that influenced the decision of the award being given to Bode Aero Services is the company’s community work, as it donates its facilities and hangar space for events such as the EAA Young Eagles event and the EAA Land of Enchantment Fly-In. It also provides winter maintenance for the EAA’s Ford Tri-Motor, military aircraft training support, flight school, and a United states Air Force career day for local high school students.
“Giving back to our community is paramount to Bode Aero’s operations,” said Tim Gorman, vice president and CFO of Bode Aero Services. “For more than 20 years, we have prioritised supporting our military community, providing assistance to students pursuing aviation careers and recognising the need for safety in our operations. We are proud to be a strong partner for our aviation community.”
Bode Aero recently built a fuel storage farm with upgraded safety regulations, including double wall leak protection, fireguard safety and rust protection, while its additional storage capacity assists with creating a consistent and stable fuel supply for customers, in turn supporting the Alburquerque economy.
The company has announced plans to construct a large bay storage hangar to store corporate jets, expand its aviation training program, and offer Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) support, training, and service.
