With the National Business Aviation Association’s (NBAA) – Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (BACE) taking place in Orlando from 18-20 October operators with flights into Orlando Executive Airport and Orlando International Airport can opt to purchase book and claim sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) with Atlantic Aviation.

In partnership with 4AIR, Atlnatic Aviation is sponsoring the cost of SAF 100% for all customers, enabling operators to claim the sustainable credits of the SAF purchase without markup. Once booked, Atlantic will place the fuel into the supply chain in an independent transaction where the SAF is on-hand. 4AIR will provide accounting and verification of claimed SAF purchases and will supply customers with emissions reductions receipts as SAF gallons are dispensed during NBAA_BACE using their SAF Delivery Receipt scheme. The receipts will summarise key sustainability information  and provide traceability through Atlantic Aviation’s book and claim process, ensuring only one user can claim the environmental benefit of the fuel.

“When we considered trucking SAF the roughly 2,800 miles from West Coast refineries to Orlando for the show, we realised doing so could be considered somewhat disingenuous, as any environmental benefit from the SAF received would be negatively offset by diesel emissions from the trucks that brought it,” said Brian Corbett, Chief Commercial & Sustainability Officer at  Atlantic Aviation.

“Partnering with 4AIR on this unique Book & Claim programme provides a much more intelligent and effective solution, and further ensures our commitment to promoting sustainable aviation continues in the best possible ways.”

Commenting on Atlantic Aviation and Sheltair’s SAF initiatives for this year’s business aviation event, NBAA President and CEO, Ed Bolen added: “There are many ways to increase the production, availability and use of SAF and we welcome the use of all of them to continue to grow this important market for low-carbon fuel. We commend the FBOs at the Orlando-area airports for giving those travelling to and from NBAA-BACE options that support our efforts to achieve our sustainability goals.”

Atlantic already offers ongoing supplies of SAF in Aspen, Colorado, Thermal/ Palm Springs, California and San Jose, California.
