American Express unveils new lounge at Salt Lake City Int Airport

Marking its debut at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), American Express is the first credit card issuer to announce plans to open a proprietary Centurion lounge at the Utah hub. SLC. The lounge is on track to open in 2025 as part of the airport’s redevelopment programme.

The approximately 16,000 sq.ft. lounge seeks its design inspiration from the region’s breathtaking scenery with an outdoor terrace offering views of the Wasatch Mountains.

Offering eligible card members a place to relax, work and dine, the lounge will also offer a dedicated wellness room and a full bar with a selection of hot and cold beverages. Guests will also be able to tuck in to delicious food from an award-winning chef featuring fresh, local ingredients. A wide range of seating options include cosy armchairs, café seating and dining banquettes, as well as quiet workspaces.

Audrey Hendley, President of American Express Express Travel, commented: “American Express has strong roots in the Salt Lake City community. It’s home to many of our colleagues and card members and a popular vacation destination for US and global card members.”

As well as offering premium amenities for travellers, she asserted the lounge will give guests a taste of what the “beautiful destination has to offer.”

Meanwhile, Bill Wyatt, Executive Director at Salt Lake City International Airport, said: “Guests will enjoy what promises to be an inviting atmosphere to relax and refresh during their journey. We’re excited to work with American Express to bring this never before seen offering at SLC to life.”
