Charlotte Douglas International Airport is expanding its lounge offering in collaboration with American Airlines.
The airline’s plans to build a Flagship lounge and expand its Admirals Club lounge will increase the space for customers travelling through the airport. Areas throughout the new lounge will be divided into distinct “neighbourhoods” featuring bar and dining areas, relaxation areas with comfortable seating, spa-style shower suites, workstations and a family friendly room.
“We’re excited to continue to invest in our lounges at Charlotte Douglas,” said Heather Garboden, American Airlines’ Chief Customer Officer.
“These improvements will introduce a premium experience and provide more space for our customers.”
The carrier currently operates threes lounges at the North Carolina hub and its latest expansion plans follow the opening of its Flagship lounge at Philadelphia International Airport.
The Philadelphia facility is its ninth premium lounge within its global network.
“Charlotte is incredibly important to American’s network,” said Ralph Lopez, American Airlines’ SVP of CLT operations. “We serve millions of customers as they travel through CLT, and we’re excited to continue to elevate their experience when travelling with us.”
