Alstef Group, a baggage handling and airport automation solutions company, has launched XSORT, a cross-belt sorter for baggage handling.

XSORT has been designed with key features for optimal integration into airports, such as low height and minimized footprint for limited spaces and 5° and 11° incline options for adaptability. It also has technology in place to reduce mechanical issues and ensure efficient operations, including linear motor drives, inductive power transfer, and short-range Wi-Fi communication. Equally, the system is equipped with native predictive maintenances capabilities, such as live monitoring and diagnostics to optimise operational efficiency.

“XSORT is a true Alstef innovation,” says Nicolas Breton, President and CEO at Alstef Group. “We developed it specifically for baggage handling with sustainability at the forefront, ensuring that every component is purposefully chosen to deliver high performance while minimizing environmental impact.”

The cross-belt sorter uses energy-efficient technologies and sustainable materials to comply with global green standards. Alstef Group’s systems are currently installed in 93 countries, with Montreal Metropolitan Airport recently awarding the company a contract for its baggage handling system.
