IGC, which manages gate assignments, schedules and coordination activities at O’Hare, has chosen AirportLabs to upgrade the core airport IT and digital platforms that manage day-to-day operations and keep the busy air transport hub running smoothly.
At the heart of the transformation is an innovative approach that enables the fast, seamless rollout of mission-critical operational platforms – including SkyCore AODB – a cloud-native system centralising operational data, Allegra RMS – a resource management platform for managing gates and baggage systems, the Airport Community App and AirportsLabs’ Data Router (ADR). According to AirportLabs, the collaboration will help create a unified digital ecosystem that optimises complex operations and enhances the travel experience.
According to Ligiu Uiorean, Director at AirportLabs, its partnership with ICG, “reflects a shared vision: leveraging technology that’s battle-tested at global hubs to elevate O’Hare’s operational excellence, passenger experience and environmental stewardship.”
The integration of SkyCore AODB and Allegra in particular will help to reduce delays and enhance passenger flow through predictive analytics and AI-driven resource scheduling, as well as real-time updates across terminals. Meanwhile, the Airport Community App will help strengthen collaboration among airlines, ground handlers and airport staff, while the ADR will enable real-time data integration through the harmonisation of data from legacy systems, IoT sensors and airline partners.
IGC President, Paul Lark, commented that “as O’Hare grows to meet the evolving needs of the travelling public for decades to come, we’re committed to delivering scalable solutions to make that growth as seamless as possible.”
