Airlink will launch a new thrice-weekly service between Johannesburg Lanseria and Harare from 15 November 2026, marking the first ever scheduled commercial flights between the privately owned Lanseria International Airport and Zimbabwe’s capital. Bookings for the route are now open.
The new service provides a convenient point to point alternative for travellers on the western side of Gauteng and in the North West Province, leveraging Lanseria’s modern facilities and growing catchment area. It also represents Airlink’s first scheduled operation from Lanseria.
Flights will be operated by Embraer E190 aircraft, offering 98 seats — six in Business Class and 92 in Economy — with Airlink’s signature all window and aisle layout and no middle seats.
Airlink CEO de Villiers Engelbrecht said Johannesburg–Harare remains one of Southern Africa’s busiest regional routes, averaging around 60,000 seats per month in 2025. He noted that a significant share of this demand comes from communities closer to Lanseria, and the new service will complement Airlink’s existing flights from O.R. Tambo International Airport.
