AGS Airports, the operator of Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Southampton, has secured GBP 745 million in a refinancing package partially funded by Allied Irish Banks (AIB), completing the deal in December 2025. Last year, AGS Airports was acquired by AviAlliance. The funds will be used to support terminal upgrades, airfield infrastructure improvements, and energy-efficiency initiatives.

AIB has chosen to offer the financing to AGS due to the organisation’s alignment with its own values, such as a commitment to local support, with AGS generating 30,000 jobs and GBP 2 billion in Gross Value, and a climate focused strategy, which AGS reinforces with its upgrades and technologies.

“We are proud to support AGS with this significant refinancing, enabling continued investment in modern, sustainable airport infrastructure,” said Andrew Woodruff, Relationship Director in AIB’s UK Infra team. “AIB is fully committed to backing businesses that drive regional growth, connect communities, and lead the way in responsible environmental stewardship.”

Phillip Staake, Chief Financial Officer at AGS Airports, commented: “We are delighted to be working with AIB on this important refinancing package for the airport as we continue to invest in our facilities, capacity, and sustainable technology.”
