Aerotec Group has acquired Croatia-based line and base maintenance & component repair services company Global Aerotech, significantly expanding its maintenance capabilities and establishing a central European maintenance and aircraft transition hub at Rijeka Airport.
The airport will be a fully integrated base maintenance and aircraft transition hub, combining aircraft storage, line and base maintenance, complete cabin refurbishment, reconfiguration and teardown activities, Aerotec Group says, with the development including an expansion of the airport infrastructure and the construction of additional hangar capacity to support a growing range of maintenance and transition projects.
Frank Kusserow, CEO of Aerotec Group commented: “With the acquisition of Global Aerotech, we are taking the next step towards building a customer-focused platform for aircraft maintenance, transitions and asset optimisation. With Rijeka Airport, we are establishing a central European hub that enables us to combine storage, base maintenance, cabin refurbishment and teardown services in one location.
The site features a 2,500-metre runway, 24-hour IFR operations and the capability to accommodate many different types of aircraft, including widebodies.
René Mamet, Vice President Operations, Aerotec Group, said: “The increasing demand for efficient maintenance, storage and asset transition solutions is driven by ongoing supply chain constraints and limited parts availability across the market. With Rijeka, we are creating a scalable operational platform that combines line and base maintenance capabilities with direct access to component support, enabling faster turnaround times and greater flexibility for our customers.
“At the same time, we are expanding our line and base maintenance network across Europe, the Middle East and Africa under a unified operational framework, ensuring consistent compliance with EASA Part- 145 and Part-21 requirements as well as FAA, UK CAA and GCAA standards.”
