Adacel Technologies has collaborated with Estonian Air Navigation Services (EANS) to confirm the aeronautical equipment certificate at Kuressaare Airport for its REVAL virtual tower.

“This is the first time REVAL underwent the rigorous certification process with the Estonian Transport Administration,” said Daniel Verret, Adacel’s CEO.

“The Adacel and EANS teams worked tirelessly during this process. The successful certification of REVAL in Kuressaare is a testament to our teams’ determination and shared vision to fully digitise Estonia’s regional airports in coming years,” Verret added.

The REVAL virtual Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower system delivers a wide spectrum of digital tower operational solutions. It was built on modular, open architecture principles suitable for a variety of aerodrome operational needs, including integration with existing or new air traffic management, communication, navigation and surveillance systems. The tower can be used remotely or onsite and operates independently in a one-to-one aerodrome control setting or as part of a multiple virtual tower centre.

Describing the REVAL ATC tower as a smart investment towards the future, Ivar Vark, EANS’s CEO said: “It will help us provide services in a more efficient way and meet the needs of passengers, now that the aviation industry has bounced back from the pandemic. REVAL will enable aerodrome flight information officers to work more efficiently and safely while providing services during peak air travel.”
