Just in time for the busy summer season, Greek airline, AEGEAN will return to Cologne Bonn Airport in Germany to operate flights to the Greek capital city, Athens.

The twice-weekly service will be operated on an Airbus A320 aircraft and will start up on 20 June, in time for the start of the summer holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia. The last time the airline flew from the Rhineland Airport was in 2014.

“AEGEAN’s flights to Athens will be a very positive addition to the range we offer from our airport,” said Thilo Schmid, President and CEO of Cologne Bonn Airport. “Not only because we can add a further airline and a further European capital city to our portfolio, but also because of all the attractive options for connecting flight to popular holiday destinations.”

Passengers travelling to Athens have numerous options for ongoing flights to popular holiday islands Rhodes, Kos and Mykonos are all easy to access from the Greek capital, as are Santorini, Crete and Paros.
