Austro Control, the Austrian air navigation service provider (ANSP), has selected ADB Safegate’s OneControl platform to modernise controller positions at Vienna Airport’s air traffic control (ATC) tower.
Philipp Piber, Managing Director of Austro Control, said: “With OneControl, we are relying on state-of-the-art technology and maximum operational reliability. The system will provide our air traffic controllers with optimal support in the safe and efficient handling of air traffic.”
Commissioning of the new system in Vienna Airport’s tower is planned for the end of 2028.
Gonzalo Moreno-Munoz, Managing Director of ADB Safegate, added: “Winning this international tender highlights our leadership in innovative air traffic control software.”
While controllers traditionally work across multiple independent displays ranging from flight planning tools to ground movement systems, OneControl integrates all safety-critical information on a single, intuitive platform. With everything in one integrated working position, controllers have immediate situational awareness of aircraft and vehicle movements on the apron, airfield and in the air.
As well as enhancing tower safety and operational reliability, OneControl supports more efficient and sustainable airport operations. Key features include advanced conflict detection for earlier risk identification; automated and intuitive workflows to reduce controller workload; and integrated airside intelligence for improved prediction and planning.
In addition, data-driven support enables seamless co-ordination from approach to take-off. These capabilities help airports optimise airside operations, minimise delays and support long-term sustainability goals.
